Summary In the book the authors talk of the plight of the financial sector in America and despite the financial crisis of 2008, the banking industry in America has been growing bigger, more profitable and more indifferent to regulations than ever before. The authors write about how the six mega banks have assets which value more than 60% of the country’s gross domestic product. They also inform the readers that this monopoly has to be broken to avoid future financial catastrophes. About the Authors Simon Johnson is a professor of Entrepreneurship at MIT’s Sloan School of Management. He is also a senior fellow of the Peterson Institute for International Economics. James Kwak is a consultant at McKinsey & Company and is a software entrepreneur. He is currently a student at the Yale Law School.
