Five on a Secret Trail is the fifteenth novel in the popular Famous Five series by bestselling children’s author, Enid Blyton. This book will be an ideal read for children aged between 10 and 12 years. Summary of the Book The Famous Five – Julian, Dick, Anne, George and Timmy the dog set out on another fun camping adventure. This time around, George, Timmy and Anne have set their camp near an old ruined cottage, which looks as though it has been abandoned for several years! Anne hears strange and eerie noises coming from the old cottage at night. Nobody seems to believe her until George sees the ghostly lights herself. All of a sudden camping does not seem like a good idea anymore. Julian and Dick join the girls at the Kirrin cottage and now the famous five are on a mission to find out if the cottage is really haunted or if someone is behind these bizarre happenings. About Enid Blyton Enid Mary Blyton was an English writer known best for her children's novels and stories. She is remembered for her Noddy and The Secret Seven series. A prolific writer, Blyton sometimes produced up to fifty books a year. The language she used was simple and yet it brought out the essence of all that she wanted to convey to impressionable minds. She started her vocation as a teacher in 1918, but her writing career received a boost in 1921 when she won a writing competition and her works began to be published in children’s magazines. She has authored over 700 books including Mister Meddle's Mischief, Mary Mouse and the Doll's House, A Book of Magic, John Jolly at Christmas Time, Chuff The Chimney Sweep and other stories, and Let's Go to the Circus.
