The investigation has been focused to preserve the valuable ancient monuments (wall paintings of Jogimara Cave) of Chhattisgarh with the following objectives:• Survey of Paintings• Survey of cave area and selection of site for sampling• Ecological study• Production of enzyme by isolated fungi• Isolation and screening of hyper protease producing fungi from deteriorated oil painting of caves.• Optimization of physico-chemical parameters for enzyme production.• A kinetic study of the growth patterns of the fungus in the designed and optimized media.• Optimization of enzyme production by isolated fungi.Under this study, isolation of fungal species from deteriorating wall paintings of Jogimara caves and rocks of Sarguja district, Ambikapur (Chhattisgarh, India) was done followed by its identification. Preliminary screening for protease production. The study indicates that cave painting harbor most of fungal flora which responsible to destroy and deteriorated the precious paintings, simultaneously that flora is also responsible for prominent protease producing activity and important for biotechnological point of view. Both the test strains have tremendous protease producing potential. It displayed the presence and importance of valuable enzyme for industrial purpose. The standardization of large scale production technology is still required for commercial/ industrial application which is beneficial for human being. This book is useful for under graduate, post graduate, MPhil, PhD students with about the book just after front page
