She is forced to teach children and run errands through snow or sleet. Soon, her resourcefulness and kind-hearted nature pave the way for her to change her destiny forever as she meets an array of people who can’t resist her charm. About Frances Hodgson Burnett Frances Hodgson Burnett was an English playwright and novelist best associated with her novels: Little Lord Fauntleroy and The Secret Garden. The above title was loosely adapted into a film in 1995, starring Liesel Matthews as Sara and Eleanor Bron as Miss Minchin. It was critically acclaimed and was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Art Direction and Set Decoration and Best Cinematography.
