Hemingway led an adventurous life. He was married four times, participated in the Second World War, where he was at the Normandy Landings and the liberation of Paris. He was also a big game hunter, war correspondent, political journalist and a World War I ambulance driver. Hemingway survived two air crashes, committing suicide in 1961.
