While Mistry addresses, in his fiction, the onslaught of modernity and questions of the survival of Parsi community, at heart he remains, like Tagore, a humanist having intrinsic faith in love and compassion for all human beings, beyond religion and race. The book, it is hoped, will make a rich contribution to the corpus of Diaspora Literature and Ethnic Studies.
