A Short History Of The World is a book that presents an intense and breathtaking view of the world right from the origin of the Earth to the consequences of the First World War. Wells was a British author who is famously known for his brilliant non-fictional novels in science genre. Besides A Short History Of The World, he has also authored groundbreaking works like The Invisible Man, The War of the Worlds, The Outline of History, and The Time Machine etc. Born on 21st September, 1866, H.G. Wells was a professional journalist and author. He completed his studies from the Royal College of Science (Imperial College London). He published over hundred books during his lifetime. These included essays, histories, novels, and programs for world regeneration. Besides writing, Wells was also passionate for drawings and sketches and he used them as a major means of expression. His earlier works of science fiction reflect his prophetic imagination. However, his later works present him as an apostle of science, progress, and socialism. He was a socialist but his contemporary political impact was limited. He called his era “The Age of Frustration”.
