A Short History Of The World is a book that presents an intense and breathtaking view of the world right from the origin of the Earth to the consequences of the First World War. Summary Of The Book H.G. Wells takes the reader through a marvelously compelling journey of the evolution of life along with the human race’s development. A Short History Of The World spans the time period from the origin of our planet around 2,000 million years ago to the outcome of the first most terrible world war, World War I. It goes on further to discuss the development of the Earth and the expansion of life on Earth. Further, the primitive thoughts and developments of humankind from the Cradle of Civilization have been explained here. Wells also discusses some unique topics, diverting from the goal, such as the rise of Judaism and Islam, the Neolithic era, the life of Jesus Christ, the Golden Age of Athens, the Industrial Revolution, and even the discovery of America. The book ends with the outcome of the First World War along with a description of the Russian famine in 1921 and the League of Nations in 1922.  First published in 1922 by Cassell & Co Ltd Publishing, A Short History Of The World is an outstanding work of history. The scope of this non-fictional book is spectacular due to which Wells covers a vast variety of issues that brought a change in the world. The book has been immensely influenced by Wells’ previous book The Outline of History.   When Wells wrote the book in 1922, people rarely knew about the planet and life on it. Nobody understood the organic life on Earth and how life was actually evolved. At such a time, this book was a miracle and a product of a genius. Wells depended on his wide-ranging appreciation for scientific things and logic and his immense genius to pen down the history of the world. And, the result was a concise and readable book that provided knowledge about Earth and the human presence upon it.  Though it is a non-fictional book that discusses history, the intensity of passion with which it has been written renders the work an aesthetic touch. Readers can read the book just like a novel or a thrilling adventurous story. The book still remains as one of the most engaging classic work of scientific facts written by one of the fathers of the modern science fiction. About Herbert George Wells H.G.
