Kailash is considered to be the center of our planet and is an attraction to many. It attracted me for years and I could make this journey finally in 2015. Travelling for twenty-one days through the classical pilgrimage route, I crossed the formidable Himalaya through Lipulekh Pass and climbed down into Tibet. This experience is a long cherished dream come true. My book is a compilation of personal experience through this trans Himalayan Kailash Mansarover Pilgrimage route. Many pilgrims and holy men of India went to Kailash through this same pilgrimage route since ages. I have tried to capture the details of this life-changing journey as best as is possible through the chapters in this book. A day to day account with photographs of this scenic route from Narayan Swami Ashram, will provide the reader an exact flavor of the journey, minus the myths and fantasies, so common to any pilgrims tale. The book is divided into parts, the first part deals with the preparation and my journey in India Himalayas, the second part deals with Manas Parikrama and the third part is on Kailash Parikrama in great detail. One can note and learn the contrasting scenario of Indian Himalaya and that of Tibet from the narrative and photographs, though the Tibet portion is only about a small region, the Kailash Khanda. I hope future travelers and pilgrims to Kailash will greatly benefit from my book as it provides enough information about this classical route.
