A Universe from Nothing is a popular science book by Lawrence M. Krauss, in which he explains modern cosmogony and its place in the debate of the existence of God. Summary of the Book In this book, Krauss discusses the origin of the universe from a quantum vacuum, which he dubs the proverbial “nothing”. He explains that the universe stemmed from basic principles of quantum mechanics and not a supernatural force that people consider to be a God. In it, he outlines the chronological events that led to the formation of the universe, explaining how science has managed to explain creation. He also relates how life owes its creation to the quantum vacuum itself, and how atheists have been right all along. This book presents Krauss’ views on atheism and contains an afterword by Richard Dawkins. About Lawrence M. Krauss Lawrence M. Krauss is an American cosmologist, academic and a theoretical physicist. He has also written The Physics of Star Trek and is the Director of the Arizona State University’s Origins Project and the Foundation Professor of the School of Earth and Space Exploration.
