Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the Iron Man of India, was a prominent leader of the Indian freedom struggle and the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of independent India. He was born on 31 October 1875 in Nadiad, Gujarat. Vallabhbhai Patel participated in the Satyagraha movements of Kheda and Bardoli under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, fighting for the rights of farmers and laborers. His determination and discipline made him different from other leaders.
