Adventures of Huckle-berry Finn is a story that revolves around the adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the son of the town drunk and Tom Sawyer’s friend. Summary of the Book Being under the care of Widow Douglas did not agree with young Huckleberry Finn, as she was always trying to teach him good manners and civilize the boy. So, when his father comes in to cause more trouble in his life, he decides that he has had enough and runs away. He goes down the Mississippi River and meets Jim on his way. Jim is a slave of Widow Douglas who has escaped. The two become good friends and set off on their own. However, Jim is captured by enemies and Huck needs to take Tom Sawyer’s help to rescue him. About Mark Twain Mark Twain was the pseudonym of Samuel Langhorne Clemens, an American writer known best for his novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Mark Twain has also written a little known historical novel based on the fictionized events of the life and times of Joan of Arc.
