The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer, as published by S. Chand, contains all of Mark Twain’s Tom Sawyer stories, in English that is easy to read for children. Summary Of The Book The classic American 1876 novel The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer, written by Mark Twain, captures the essence of childhood in the shape and form of a boy named Tom Sawyer. It’s set in the fictional town of St. Petersburg located near the River Mississippi and shows Tom in his growing years. He lives with Aunt Polly and his half-brother Sid. Tom’s friend and partner-in-crime in these adventures is Huckleberry Finn, the boy who later appears as the narrator of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. In The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer, Tom’s life goes through a series of dramatic events which kids his age typically go through, such as falling in love with his sweetheart from school, Becky Thatcher, being a trickster by getting his friends to do a dull, boring chore assigned to him, performing stunts to impress the girls in his school, fighting in the courtyard when red-hot angry, racing bugs during class, playing pirates on the river, and getting lost in a cave.
