It is a well known fact that with the existing level of available technology, India can easily double its agricultural production and productivity. About the Author A.K. Singh is Assistant Professor (Agriculture) at North Eastern Regional Institute of Water and Land Management, Tezpur , Assam. He did his M. Sc. from Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi, and Ph. D. from Visva Bharati Santiniketan. He is a recipient of University Fellowship, Department of Atomic Energy Fellowship and National Agricultural Technology Project Fellowship. He has published 16 research papers in national and international journals of repute and attended several seminars. N.P. Singh is presently working as a Principal Scientist and Head, Division of Agronomy, ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya. Earlier, he was Professor and Head, Department of Agronomy, School of Agricultural Science and Rural Development, Nagaland University, Medziphema. He completed his M.Sc. and Ph. D. in Agronomy from the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He is a recipient of District Merit Fellowship and BHU Fellowship. He has published 38 research papers and 70 popular articles. He has also attended 76 conferences at regional, national and international levels.
