This book addresses a wide range of issues concerning the problems of wastelands at Block level in District Sultanpur and at village level in Amethi Block describing the geographical locations, religio-historical importance of the study area, analysing the factors responsible for the wastelands development especially various natural and human factors for the agro-afforestation management in Amethi and Sultanpur. It also highlights comprehensive policy on practical reclamation of various types of wastelands in the selected villages of Amethi Block and economics of wastelands reclamation for agro-afforestation management. Finally, the strategies for agro-afforestation on wastelands have also been worked out. About the Author H.R. Yadav did his Post Graduation, M.Phil and Ph.D. from J.N.U. New Delhi, worked as Research Associate & Pool Scientist (1986-94) of CSIR, has published 5 books and 45 Research papers, and completed 91 projects in the fields of Wastelands Development, Rural Technology, Rural Development & Employment Generation programmes. Dr. Yadav has been the member, Landuse Board, Govt. of U.P. National Wastelands Development Board, Govt. of India, and Board of Management, N.D. University of Agriculture & Technology, Faizabad. Dr. Yadav was the Member of RC-CZ, CAPART, Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India. He is the founder Member Secretary & Director, Institute of Wastelands Reclamation & Rural Development (1990), Institute of Science & Technology for Rural Development (1994) and RIWARD Post Graduate College at Sultanpur affiliated to the Dr. R.M.L. Avadh University, Faizabad. Presently, Dr. Yadav is engaged in the implementation of employment generating programmes through Preservation and Processing of Fruits and Vegetables and Bio-technology, Nano Science, Bio-Technology Afforestation & Bio-Informatics programmes and developing village information system for Amethi Block, District Sultanpur.
