This is the Indian Edition of the book. Bh?va is unquestionably the most important area of Jyoti?a. After learning the building blocks of Grahas, R??is, K?rakas, the Bh?vas is the next big step. The Bh?vas allow us to apply Jyoti?a in our lives. The Bh?vas map an individual to the K?lapuru?a. The zodiac or the Bh?cakra starts from Me?a and has 12 R??is. Similarly, an individual’s Ku??al? starts from the Lagna and has 12 Bh?vas. The 12 Bh?vas of an individual correspond to the 12 R??is of the K?lapuru?a. There is a saying that we are made in the same template as God. This concept of Bh?va supports that. There is a correspondence between the J?taka Ku??al? and the K?lapuru?a Ku??al?. J?taka Ku??al? is the Ku??al? of an individual. In the Ku??al?, when a Bh?va and its corresponding R??i in the K?lapuru?a Ku??al? are fortified, the matters related to the Bh?va attains prominence and success. For instance, when the 9th house and Dhanu R??i in a Ku??al? are fortified, the native is born with good fortune and blessings of the Devat?s. Contrary to it, if both are afflicted, the suffering is terrible. This book is an introduction to the 12 Bh?vas. This is an extensive field of knowledge, and explaining each Bh?va can occupy an entire book. The intention here is to provide a high-level overview of all the 12 Bh?vas so that one can undertake a study of each on their own. If time permits, I will pen my thoughts and reflections on each of the 12 Bh?vas separately!
