Analysis of Structure is an important subject for Civil Engineering students who are required to analyse and design structures such as buildings, bridges etc. The subject was introduced recently as compulsory course of study for students pursuing Diploma in Civil Engineering. The book covers the analysis of simple indeterminate structures (beams, frames etc.) and provides introduction to the various methods of analysis. There are nine chapters in all. The first two chapters deal with introductory information and assumptions/idealisation on which the basic concepts and underlying theories are based. Sufficient number of solved numerical problems have been provided to enable easy understanding of the subject. Each chapter contains good number of problems for practice in order to test the students ability in solving them correctly. In addition, a separate section (Appendix-I) consisting of important MCQs with answers is given making the book useful for competitive exams/tests. Another feature includes compilation of important formulae, diagrams data etc. practical in nature which can be useful as ready references. Question papers of the last two years are added in the end to enable students assess their knowledge and level of preparation in the subject.
