Two young pigs rebel against their human master in an attempt to bring order to their farm in George Orwell’s classic satire, Animal Farm. Summary of the Book Napoleon and Snowball have but one wish. They want to oust their evil ruler, the farmer and his family, and gain control over the farm. To that end, they lead a chaotic battle, managing to win. They soon declare that all are equal on the farm, and that four legs are better than two legs. However, their ideals soon change as they set up their own government, a hackneyed version of communist ideals. As the days pass, they begin to change, slowly adapting the human lifestyle. However, they claim that they are still unbiased. All animals are equal, they claim. They do not pause before adding that some animals are just more equal than others. About George Orwell Eric Arthur Blair, better known as George Orwell, was an English writer born in Burma. He is best remembered for his essays, his diaries, his novels, including 1984 and Down and Out in Paris and London. Orwell is considered to be a pioneering novelist and thinker, responsible for the rise of the dystopian literature genre. It is, therefore, no small achievement that the word Orwellian has become a synonym for totalitarian regimes and their ideals.
