Long Red Radish Long Scarlet radishes have a long, tapered root that grows very straight and can reach up to 18 centimeters long. The taproot has a deep, scarlet red skin and a crisp, tender white flesh. Long Scarlet radishes have a mild taste that is not as spicy or pungent as other radish varieties.
