Kodo millet is a very drought-resistant crop. The Kodo grain is recommended as a substitute for rice to patients suffering from diabetic disease. The crop cycle of Kodo millet is 105-120 days. Kodo plant can reach up to 95 cm in height. The approx. 10 kg/ ha seeds required for line sowing and 15 kg/ha for broadcasting method sowing. The Germination capacity and moisture content are approx 75-80% and 12%, respectively. The sowing times are Kharif: Mid-June to Mid-July and Rabi: Sept-December. The approximate yield will be 20-30 Q/ha by good agricultural practices.
