During recent years, both theoretical and experimental methods have found considerable applications in the solution of engineering problems. In cases where a rigorous solution cannot be readily obtained, approximate methods have been developed. Therefore, in the preparation of this book, Applied Stress Analysis the intention was to give to engineering students both at undergraduate and post-graduate level and researchers, in a simple form, the necessary fundamental knowledge of the theoretical and experimental methods for stress analysis which could be attempted to solve problems both in the elastic and plastic range. The material embodied in this book has been taken from various books and journals and has been developed by the author over the past several years.
