Sorghum-Sudangrass is a cross between sorghum and Sudangrass. It is annual and multicut crop (re-grow after each harvest), high growth warm season grass. • It grows 120-240 cm in height under normal condition, Sudan grass requires low water, drought tolerance, slender leaves and, requires10 kg of seed /acre. • Average yields are 40-80 t/ha (fresh), 8-15 t/ha (dry matter) and 20-45 t/ha (silage) depending upon the growing condition. • First cutting will be 60 days after sowing, then subsequent harvest at 30-35 days. • Sudan grass is mostly used for green fodder, pastures/grazing, silage & hay making. It is one of preferable feed for cattle, Cow, Buffalo, Goat & Sheep.
