As You Like It is a comedy by William Shakespeare. The story revolves around Rosalind, who has been banished from her kingdom. Summary of the Book Rosalind has been made to stay out of the kingdom ever since her uncle took over her father’s throne. Alone and stranded, she does not know where to go and finally decides to go to the forest of Arden. Her father is being held court in this very forest and it isn’t very safe for Rosalind to roam about in the wild by herself. She will have trouble if anyone recognizes her, so she thinks of something fast. Rosalind disguises herself as a young boy and it is so believable that a woman shows interest in her disguise. She soon meets the boy she is in love with, but she is more interested in knowing how much he really loves her. For this, she continues to be a boy for a longer time and works on ways to find out how much he loves her. Readers will enjoy this hilarious drama that has some funny and memorable dialogues and concealed identities. About William Shakespeare William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and writer.
