This is a Gold plated necklace chain. The pendant has Zircon original and the rest of the pendant is Gold plated.The golden pendant is gold plated IND950@ inscribed at the back of each each pendant. The process by which this has been gold plated is electroplating. The items are made with a layer of gold on the surface over another type of metal underneath. In this case the material underneath is brass copper alloy.With time, temperature and voltage carefully controlled, the piece is submerged into the plating solution to attract ions of gold or the final metal that will show on the surface. Different metals require different voltages and temperatures.
