Vasant Lad is an Indian-born American writer, professor, Ayurvedic physician, and director of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dr. Lad is the author of several articles and books on the subject of Ayurvedic Medicine, including Ayurveda: A Practical Guide: The Science of Self Healing, Ayurvedic Perspectives on Selected Pathologies, Strands of Eternity, and Secrets of the Pulse: The Ancient Art of Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis. Dr. Lad founded the Ayurvedic Institute in 1984. He has been an advisor for the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine and Colorado Ayurvedic Medical Association. He is also a faculty of the Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda in Watsonville, California, and the Dinacharya Institute. He holds B.A.M.S. and M.A.Sc. degrees. The author teaches Ayurvedic Studies Programs and also an advanced Gurukula program in Pune, India. He also gives seminars on Ayurveda, its theory and principles, history, and practical applications across the globe. Usha Lad, co-author of Ayurvedic Cooking for Self-Healing, is the wife of Dr. Vasant Lad.
