Dear students:Generations shouldn’t be compared. We should/need to adaptto the change of generations. Many things have changed in life.Fast food(noodles) has replaced 32 type of side dishes like poriyal & vadai payasamlunch in banana leaf. Postman, landline, telegram, cassette tape recorder/CD player are all replaced by email, WhatsApp, mobile, and many more.Young generations after reading 3000 pages textbook might benefit by ashort, small, ready reckoner like small pocket guides. Three minutes shortfilms are preferred to 3 and ½ hours of movies like Sholay and Benhur bymany now. Having said that in 3 minutes short film also talented peoplehave been able to tell messages very clearly and shortly.Small and short dosen’t mean being inadequate. After all the world-famousmy favorite “Ulaga Pothu Marai” (philosophical book) “Thirukural” is theshortest in lines and gives so many good messages. We also have triedto bring out an exam focussed small pocket guide for pediatric clinicalexamination.
