Red sandalwood is a plant . The heartwood is utilized as prescription . The tree develops as a wild plant in Chittoor and kadapa areas of Andhra Pradesh and found in a few bundles of connecting condition of Tamil Nadu too . The range is portrayed by hot dry atmosphere with around 100mm of downpour in each of the two yearly rainstorm . The trees are found in dry slope zones of Palakonda extent . The heartwood , valuable parat of plant is amazingly hard , dark red in shading with infrequent light yellow streaks .
