About Serge Lang Serge Lang was a French-born American mathematician, famous for his contribution to number theory. He was a member of the Bourbaki group. His most famous work is Algebra, a graduate-level introduction to abstract algebra. Some of the titles he authored are: Introduction to Differentiable Manifolds, A First Course in Calculus, Introduction to Transcendental Numbers, Algebraic Numbers, and Introduction to Modular Forms.
