Grant Morrison's Time And The Batman is a graphic novel starring the Dark Knight. Summary of the Book There always has been a Batman, there always will be a Batman. Beginning with Bruce Wayne, Grant Morrison's pivotal work on the Dark Knight's mythos showcases how the original Caped Crusader matched wits with his loyal sidekick Robin, Dick Grayson, at his side as he fought off the criminally insane such as the Joker, Penguin and Scarecrow. The menaces kidnap Batman and Robin and put them in a time torture device, one invented by a Professor Nichols. Batman and Robin escape their would-be captors and note that the machine could be used for their gain. Years later, Dick is the new Batman now that Bruce is dead, and he returns to the lab with Damian, Bruce's son and the new Robin, only to find the professor dead inside it. The professor has aged more than he should have, being 80 when he was merely 60. In the future, Damian is Batman and meet Professor Nichols once again, and this time he doesn't relent until he finds out how the professor died. In his journey he sees the truth, that there always has been a Batman and there always will be a Batman. Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Damian Wayne or Terry McGinnis, the name has never mattered. Only the cowl matters, and only the fear that it strikes into the hearts of criminals.
