Summary of the Book When a young girl goes missing, the Caped Crusader begins to hunt for her. He fails in his battles against her kidnappers, bound by physical limitations. Angered by his failure, Batman decides to try an experimental drug called Venom created by the girl’s father. The drug grants its user a tremendous increase in strength and power, but it comes with an equally tremendous price in sanity. To make matters worse, the World’s Greatest Detective has no idea that one day, this drug will fall into the hands of a man who will break him, the man known as Bane. About the Authors Dennis O’Neil, Trevor Von Eeden, Russell Braun and José Luis García-López have been working at DC Comics for several years. O’Neil is widely known for his work on Green Lantern and Green Arrow. He has also worked on The Shadow with Mike Kaluta, Batman with Neal Adams and The Question with Denys Cowan. Von Eeden was the youngest artist hired by DC Comics, beginning work for them when he was still in high school. He is known for pencilling Black Lightning, the first Black Canary mini-series, the original Black Canary regular series, the first Green Arrow mini-series and Thriller. Braun’s pencilling is regularly featured on DC Comics issues, including Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight. García-López is known for his art on JLA: Classified, Batman Confidential, Deadman and Road to Perdition. Collector’s Note This issue collects Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #16 to #20.
