Batman: Hush is a graphic novel by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee in which Batman faces the mysterious stalker named Hush. Summary of the Book When Killer Croc kidnaps the young heir of a wealthy Gotham family for ransom, he didn’t count on the Batman’s appearance. However, Batman realizes that Croc seems different somehow, as though he was physically altered. The Caped Crusader defeats Croc but he’s unable to stop Catwoman from making off with the ransom money. The Dark Knight goes after her, but just as he is about to catch up to her, someone cuts through his Batline and he falls to the ground. Injured by both his battle with Croc and the fall, Batman is unable to fight off the thugs who soon surround his body. Luckily, he is saved by Huntress and Oracle remotely drives the Batmobile to Batman’s location. The unconscious Batman is returned to the cave, but he is beyond even the loyal Alfred’s knowledge to save. In his semi-conscious state, Bruce directs Alfred to call upon the services of Thomas Elliot, a genius neurosurgeon and his childhood friend. Can the Batman return to the streets of Gotham once again, or will this fall stop him forever? Who was it that cut the Batline and, more importantly, why?
