Vasuki is a powerful serpent or naga in Hindu mythology. According to the Puranas, Vasuki is the king of nagas and has a gem called Nagamani on his head. He is said to have been used as a churning rope to churn the ocean of milk during Samudra Manthan, a cosmic event where the gods and demons churned the ocean to obtain Amrita, the elixir of immortality. Vasuki is also known for being the mount or vehicle of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu in their serpent form. He is sometimes depicted as a five-headed serpent with each head representing one of the five elements of nature. Vasuki is also revered and worshipped as a protective deity and is believed to bring good luck and prosperity to his devotees.
