This large commemorative book on east India is an invaluable source of information for the scholar and the interested reader alike. In the 787 pages of this book, the reader will find fascinating chapters on the early and later history of Bengal; the native races; flora and fauna; tea; indigo; notes on the states of Cooch Behar, Tripura, and Manipur; horse racing; industries; The Agricultural and Research Institute and College, Pusa; fisheries, etc. There are short accounts of many business establishments extant at the time of the compilation of the book.
