Swami Vivekananda's real name was Narendranath Dutta. He was born on January 12, 1863 in Kolkata in an aristocratic and religious Bengali family. He completed his studies from Presidency College. He was not only a great saint but also a patriot, an orator, a theorist and a great writer. He died while meditating on July 4, 1902. Swami Ji was highly devoted to the concept of 'karma'. He always used to say, "One should be practical while doing any kind of work. Excessive theoretical principles have caused the destruction of the entire nation." In Karmayoga, he has presented 'karma' as a mental discipline and a guiding path to enlightenment.
