The book renders a brief overview of post-colonial theory and its praxis keeping in view the particularities of the issues of identity and a critical perspective on Bharati Mukherjee’s approach to the issue of immigration and bi- culturalism, its impact on identity reconstruction in the modern society and necessary narratives as a whole. However, the transformation of Bharati Mukherjee as a writer and a dweller of the new world happened with the act of immigration in the United States in 1980.
