Humic Acid is extracted from compressed, ancient plant matter in the form of leonardite (a soft brown coal). It is an ideal additive to boost bio-activity and improve the performance of compost, soil structure and plant nutrients intake.Humic acids are commonly used as a soil supplement in Agriculture. It stabilizes nitrogen and release lock up phosphorus in soil and increase soil water holding capacity.It can help hold these fertilizers in the root zone for longer periods of time and allow the plant to take up more nutrients. In hard-pan or compacted soils, an addition of humic acid liquid fertilizer can break up these soils and allow nutrients to penetrate deeper down to the root zone.
