Kachera is a specific type of shorts (undergarment) which are usually worn as undergarments. An article of faith of the Sikhs to wear as part of the Khalsa uniform. This was to distinguish Sikhs from Hindus who traditionally wore dhoti (a long loin cloth). This also include the idea that these specific short made it easier for Sikhs to move in battle.
