She was honoured with the RWA Lifetime Achievement Award which was later renamed as the RWA Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. She has also been awarded the Golden Medallion Award, the Quill Award and the RITA Award. Recently, she was called "America’s favorite novelist" by The New Yorker.
