Nancy Drew And The Hardy Boys: Super Mystery Bonfire Masquerade is a thrilling read with many twists and turns in the plot. Summary Of The Book Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys are fictional characters created by Edward Stratemeyer, and were written under the pseudonyms Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon, respectively. Edward Stratemeyer created The Hardy Boys in 1926, following which the two teenage detective brothers Frank and Joe Hardy, became extremely popular. They lived in the city of Bayport with their parents often solving cases related to murder, diamond smuggling, theft, drug peddling and espionage, under dangerous circumstances. After the huge success of this venture, Stratemeyer embarked on creating a similar series with a heroine, Nancy Drew, as the central character. Nancy is a teenage amateur sleuth who lives in River Heights with her attorney father, Carson Drew. Along with her friends, Bess Marvin and George Fayne, she is often solving mysteries in her neighbourhood and sometimes even in far off places. Her exemplary courage and intelligence helps her get to the bottom of the most tricky of situations and come out on top. In this book, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys come together to solve a mystery in New Orleans. Robbery, murder and arson was being committed in the city during the Mardi Gras festival and the suspicion was on a gang called Krewe de Crude. The plot thickens when a client of Nancy’s father, Daniel is found strangled to death. This brings in a host of new suspicions and problems because the culprits are dressed in costumes and hence difficult to pin down. Will Nancy and the boys manage to solve this mystery? Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys series have sold millions of copies worldwide as separate and joint ventures. There have also been television serials based on the stories. ABC aired The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries from 1977 to 1979. About The Authors Carolyn Keene is the pseudonym used by many authors of the Nancy Drew and The Dana Girls series, both of which have been produced by the Stratemeyer Syndicate. The first writer in this series was Mildred Wirt Benson. Along with Harriet Adams, she is known to be the chief writer behind the stories. Other ghost writers include Walter Karig, Priscilla Doll, Margaret Scherf and Wilhelmina Rankin. Franklin W. Dixon is the named used by the many writers behind The Hardy Boys and Ted Scott Flying Stories series. Leslie McFarlane was the first of the many authors who wrote nineteen out of the twenty-five stories between 1927 and 1946. His wife, Amy, authored one book too. The rest were written by John Button. Other subsequent writers include William Dougherty, James Buechler among others.
