This volume presents a selection of those papers which, in the view of the editor, have brought an important and possibly lasting contribution to the subject of Bose Einstein correlations. The choice of reprinted papers has been dictated by two main criteria; those papers with historical significance and those with a present usefulness, published until 1996. The historical point-of-view should help the reader to understand the evolution of the subject. The book also includes a short presentation of further references preceding the reprinted papers.
