Business Analysis is a book on business management, which was first published in 2006. Business management is a branch of management that deals with identifying business needs and coming up with solutions to business problems. This book is an introductory guide, which follows a practical approach in guiding the users to define the IT requirements and enhance the business processes. It is also specifically designed for students who are aiming for ISEB (Information Systems Examination Board) qualifications in business analysis. The concepts explained in this book include the business analysis process model, stakeholder analysis and management, modelling business systems, implementing business change, strategy analysis, and competencies of a business analyst. The additional features in this edition include new techniques like Ishikawa diagrams and Spaghetti maps, investigation of business needs, and extensive treatment of requirements management. Concepts such as benefits realization are explained in detail, including the use of benefits realization maps. The major highlight of Business Analysis is that it has been authored and updated by professionals who are practitioners and trainers in the business analysis field. Debra Paul is the Director of Assist Knowledge Development and is the founding member of International Business System Development Forum. She has also authored other books such as Business Analysis Techniques: 72 Essential Tools For Success. Donald Yeats is an Honours Graduate in Economics and a Chartered fellow of BCS. Apart from co-authoring books such as Project Management for Information Systems and Systems Analysis and Design, he has also written content for Radio and TV, been a Broadcaster on Radio and Television, external examiner, adviser, and visiting lecturer for the Open University, City University, and the Universities of Westminster and East London. He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in 1994 for his contribution to the work of ISEB. James Cadle is the co-author and co-editor of this book. He has also co-authored Project Management for Information Systems along with Yeates. Cadle is currently the Director of Assist Knowledge Development and specialises in business analysis and project management training and consultancy.
