To make the teaching/learning of grammar relevant, it is necessary to integrate the teaching of grammar with the development of the basic language skills. The units in Cambridge School Grammar have, therefore, been designed to include exercises involving listening, speaking, reading and writing with special focus on the particular grammatical structure being taught in the unit. Many units also have open-ended activities where learners are required to think and apply their knowledge, as well as engage in error correction tasks that sensitise learners to grammatical errors. The last activity in every unit is a writing task with focus on fluency and creativity, involving the use of the grammatical structure dealt with in the unit.
