The topics discussed by Wilson and Natale are those which they, as researchers and teachers in the field of moral education, have encountered most often over the last 30 years and which have provoked the most interesting questions and debates. Running through each of the essays is a picture of education in morality painted in strictly non-partisan and non-ideological terms: that is education in a form of thought or department of life that is common to all human beings, and not based on any particular set of moral, cultural, political or other ideological beliefs.
