The book titled Challenges of the Twenty First Century is a contribution made out of selective papers presented in conferences held at home and abroad. It deals with international, regional and national issues relating to World Peace, South Asia's Nuclear Proliferation, Terrorism in South Asia, Human Rights, Transforming Rural India, Disaster Management, Human Development, Knowledge Economy and the present crisis of Global Recession. All these issues are analyzed effectively and ideas for managing them are provided based on non-violent methods and UN Millennium Development Goals (UNMDG) by advancing interesting arguments for attaining global knowledge society. About the Author He an M.Sc. (Peace-Making) from Madurai Kamaraj University and Ph.D from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, has been teaching arms control, national security, peace, disarmament, human resource management, conflict resolution and international relations in Pondicherry University since 1988. Dr. Moorthy is also associated with National Movement for Counselling the Youth and Mission Develop India Network. He has published two books and edits a quarterly Knowledge Society Journal. He was selected as a visiting Peace Fellow of Shanti Peace Foundation, Coimbatore; and is now nominated as International Educator of the Year 2005 by International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England.
