Disability is a human rights issue, it is an educational and social issue, it is no more considered as a medical issue. It must be realized by everybody that PWDs are an integral part of society and every effort must be made to mainstream them in the society. People with impairment feel disabled not because of their physical and or mental handicaps but because of the barriers society imposes to establish differences between the disabled and non-disabled. Now, our Indian society has already entered the fifth wave of education i.e. knowledge based society. In the light of our constitution we are considering Education for All. It also includes students with disabilities. Now, in the changing scenario we are passing through the various concepts like mainstreaming, integration etc and at present we are looking forward for inclusion of the children with disabilities in the regular schools.
