Cinnamomum tamala, Indian bay leaf, also known as tejpat, tejapatta, Malabar leaf, Indian bark, Indian cassia, or malabathrum, is a tree in the family Lauraceae that is native to India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and China. It can grow up to 20 m tall. Always maintain moisture near the root zone, because it is mainly grown for its leaves, so we have to maintain good healthy leaves. You can grow in temperature between 20 - 35 Degree celsius with 75% of humidity. It will grow as a small to medium-sized tree, but you can prune & maintain your required height. BOTANIC DESCRIPTION Cinnamomum tamala is a moderate sized evergreen tree attaining a height of 8 m, and a girth of 150 cm. Its bark produces mucilage. Leaves lanceolate, glabrous; alternately placed, opposite and short stalked.
