The Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) is a nationwide competitive examination in India conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to various civil services including IAS, IRS, IFS, and IPS, among others. The CSAT is comprised of two compulsory papers of 200 marks and of two hours duration each. The questions will be of multiple choices, objective type. The CSAT Paper-I covers current events of national and international importance. The book Civil Service Aptitude Test is in two volumes. The first volume includes India and the world geography, Indian polity and governance. There is a chapter on Indian history, which covers ancient, medieval and modern history. The volume contains the structure and features of Indian economy and latest facts and developments in agriculture. The volume also contains the beginning and the evolution of the Indian Industrial Policy, economic development since Independence, and the present scenario of Indian economy. Indian polity, judiciary, and governance are also included. The second volume contains general science, science & technology, medicine, discovery, and exploration. Medicine encompasses a variety of health care practices. There is a chapter on energy and power, environment and climate change.
