Classical and English Literary Criticism texts are prescribed for the students of literature by almost all the universities in the UG & PG courses in India and abroad. In India, UGC has recommended literary criticism in its Choice Basic Credit System (CBCS) for the students of higher education in their Graduation and Post-graduation programs. With minor variations, most of the universities of the country have made the texts of literary criticism compulsory in the PG Second Semester, CC – VII and in Paper V of the Old and in Paper VIII of the New Syllabus. It is also recommended in Paper VI as Discipline Centric Elective in the CBCS UG Program. Almost all the universities in the country teach most of the chapters given in this book. It is also helpful for the students preparing for NTA NET, PhD Entrance Test, PSCs and other competitive examinations. It is a must have and must read book for every one. It deserves space in every library and every personal bookshelf.
