He is currently enjoying a nice recluse near the home of his benefactor, Emily Inglethorp. He believes he needs to pay her back for the gesture somehow. However, Emily is murdered, and Poirot loses his chance. The killer has made a grave mistake, though. He hasn’t taken into account that there is no better detective than Hercule Poirot. She created several best-selling storylines centred around timeless characters such as Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Tommy and Tuppence and Parker Pyne.
