skins change colour with time, their smells get all mixed up like flavours and it’s almost always about where you are and who you’re with - they become your smell, the things you love, the laughters that make your heart beat fast, the smiles that settles your rushing blood. your skin starts smelling of them, and just when you feel like you’ve arrived home, comfortable in your fine skin - it’s almost the time to get stronger, and fight harder. ‘coming back home’ brought me closer to shedding my second skin, going beyond my very own flesh and bones. this book is a feeling in itself, for you, and for me. a little bit of everyone lives inside these pages, with each word and sentence, you’ll find a reason to be alive, you’ll find a reason to fight, you’ll find a reason to accept pain, because it’s as important as joy. without pain, we’d be nothing just happy robots. so here, i give you my second skin. i hope this finds you.
