About Isaac Asimov Isaac Asimov was a prolific writer, author, and professor Some of his other titles were Planets For Man, I, Robot, The Intelligent Man’s Guide To Science, and Nightfall. Asimov completed his MA and Ph.D, both in Biochemistry, at Columbia University. After a brief period in the army, he joined the teaching faculty at the School of Medicine, at Boston University, where he remained throughout his lifetime. Asimov also began writing during this time. He was the founding member of the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal. Asimov was also the Vice President of Mensa International. Asimov had married twice. First, he wed Gertrude Blugerman, and after divorcing her, married Janet O. Jeppson. During Asimov’s lifetime, he received many notable awards such as the Thomas Alva Edison Foundation Award and the Nebula Award. Asimov passed away in 1992. In his honor, an asteroid, a crater, and an award have been named after him.
